The different types of storage racking systems
Light duty racking system
Light duty racks are designed for the storage of materials that can be hand-loaded. On this ranking system, you cannot put items that have to be loaded by a forklift or a truck. The loading capacity may vary, but in general, these racks can take up to 80 to 250 kg per shelf when uniformly distributed.
Light duty racks are perfect for storage in case of officers, homes, commercial warehouses, etcetera. There are two types of light-duty racks available in the market:

- Boltless racks
Bolt and nut tracks

Boltless rack
Boltless racks became popular after 2000. These are set up by connecting the posts or the boards to the rivets present on the beams. This modern design allows boltless racking systems to be very versatile and adaptable to a variety of situations and storage purposes. Medium duty racking system
The medium-duty racking system was also designed to handle hand-loaded storage and not the storage that had to be lifted by machines. The primary advantage of the medium-duty racking system is that they offer better loading capacity than the light-duty racking system. They can take the wait in ranges from 300 to 800 kg per tier.
Due to the increased capacity of taking loads, the beam length in the case of a medium-duty racking system is longer and deeper. Mostly, the decking is made of plywood or HDF board. However, if metal decking is used, the price would increase by four times.
The high loading capacity of the medium-duty racking systems makes it the best option for use in industrial and commercial warehouses where stackable boxes from automobiles or heavier goods need to be stored. The medium-duty ones are also referred to as long-span racking.
