Favourites for the European Championships
The European championships was an event alongside the Olympic games that was set to headline the summer of 2020. However, each were moved due to the coronavirus pandemic and will be taking place in just a few months’ time. Anticipation is now building ahead of the event and these betting sites not on gamstop have the event covered, with prices for the anti-post markets. So, with this being the case, who are the favourites for the European championships.
The general favourites for the tournament are England, who head in at 9/2. They have been drawn in Group D and will be taking on Croatia, Czech Republic and Scotland. England qualified in impressive fashion, that included them winning 5-0 at home against the Czech Republic. England also finished fourth at the World Cup in Russia back in 2018 and appear to be improving at the right time. They now head into the finals with a strong chance of winning their first European title and could this finally be the year for England.
The second favourites for the tournament at 5/1 are Belgium, who are coming off the back of a third placed finish at the World Cup back in 2018. They are going through the most successful period in their history and have a squad full of incredible players. Belgium also qualified very impressively, winning every match. They have now been drawn in Group B and will take on Denmark, Finland and Russia. Belgium will also be looking to win the competition for the first time and improve on their quarter-final appearance at the last edition of the European championships.
Third in the betting is France, who are the general 11/2 third favourites. They enter having won the World Cup back in 2018 and were also beaten finalists and the last edition of the European championships. France are many people’s ideas of the clear favourites but have been drawn against both Germany and Portugal in Group F, which is why they have drifted abit in the betting. If France can continue their form from the World Cup, then they are going to take all the beating and also qualified impressively for the Championships.
The final side to mention is Spain, who are the general 7/1 fourth favourites. They have been drawn in Group E and will take on Poland, Slovakia and Sweden. Spain is also three-time winners of the competition, that included back-to-back victories in 2008 and 2012. Spain enters having had an impressive qualification and will again be a major challenger for the Euro title.
