MyCountryIn3Words – The first flashmob in voice-over and localization industry!
Some words have more deep meaning for us, especially pronounced in the native language, if we leave far. Accent Network, voice-over and Localization Company, carries out voice-over and localization gig for the last four years. When you travel and get to know new countries, traditions and people, have you ever thought what locals think about their countries? The answer is in the video below – the first flahmob in localization industry!
What do you know about your country? Could you describe it in three words? The people on the following video did it – they participated in the first flahmob in localization and voice-over industry, and shared their three words with the world, associated with their countries, in their native languages.
What is “Matryoshka” for Russians? What is “Froccs” for Hungarians? What does Gaidi mean for Catalans? And what is “Arepa” for Venezuelans?
People all around the world are gathered in this video to say their three words in their languages about their countries. Since 2016 Accent Network joins professional voice-over talents, linguists, translators and friends to participate in a social experiment – to share their three associations with their home countries. The rules are easy: just shoot a video with participant in a beautiful place, prepare interesting three words, and tell them in the video in native language. Wherever they are now, mostly people associate their countries with such words as “nature”, “food”, “family” or “love”. Sometimes they are more creative, sharing some words which it is difficult to translate to another language, such as “matryoshka”, “karagod”, “kento” or “dento”…
It’s already the 4th Edition of the #MyCountryIn3Words gig. Every year we are gathering new participants to share their 3 words with the world. After watching the video, you will learn: which three associations locals have with their countries, how other languages sound, you will read English translations of what is spoken by them, as well as participants names and the countries they are from.
