How to change address in Aadhar Card Online

Aadhaar cardholders will no longer have to wait in queues and pay any charges to get their address changed.

The Unique Identification Authority of India has provided the facility through which you can update or change the address mentioned in your Aadhar card.

An applicant can get his address updated in Aadhar when he relocates to some other place. The address can be updated as many times as the person changes his address of residence. Here’s how to change the address in Aadhar online:

If you have recently relocated and are facing issues because your address is not updated on your Aadhar, here’s some help.

As per the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) website, you can update it online.

Updating Online:
Only those individuals who have registered their valid mobile number with Aadhar will be able to update it online. Since online transactions are OTP authenticated, registering your mobile number with Aadhar becomes mandatory.
If you are using the Self Service Update Portal (SSUP), you can update your demographic details (name, address, date of birth, gender, mobile, and email).
Scan and upload supporting self-attested proof of identity document for Aadhaar card address change.
Once your request is submitted, you will be given an Aadhar card Update Request Number, which can be further used to track the status of your request.

How much is the fee:

Updating your address on Aadhar online is free. However, whenever you get your details corrected or updated at an enrolment centre, you need to pay a fee of Rs 25 each time.

Turnaround time:

As per the UIDAI website, the turnaround time for updation is 90 days. Your update request will be verified by a UIDAI representative. Once your request is approved, you can download your e-Aadhar by clicking “Download Aadhar” on uidai.gov.in. Aadhar letter with updates will be delivered at the updated address.

-Visit UIDAI website

-Enter Enrolment ID and time of enrolment

-Enter Captcha Verification

-Click on ‘Check Status’ button.
