What Your Oily Skin Is in Need of
Oily skin needs hydration and lipids are essential for good hydration. Let us pass the fact that the name “oil free” is often completely eccentric (because the products often contain squalane or oily esters). In fact, you should choose a product that is not too nourishing, without occlusive or comedogenic ingredients (beeswax, fatty oils, acrylates, silicones, mineral oils among others), but to flee from any oil is heresy. Some vegetable oils are also sebo-regulating. The risk, however, is to make the skin thirsty and dehydrate it. This does not solve the problem of oily skin, but on the contrary adds another.
The ideal moisturizer for Oily Skin is not “oil free”, know it. It is light, penetrating, well hydrating, non-comedogenic and enriched with treating agents (sebo-regulators, astringents, purifiers or even antibacterials), but certainly not “oil free”. Do not stop at this detail created from scratch and completely wacky.
Why does the “millefeuille” or “layering” method work?
We don’t particularly like the term “millefeuille” which suggests a heap of layers on top of each other. However, the purpose of this routine from Asia which consists of using several products (washing, exfoliating, moisturizing, caring) in succession is not to accumulate the products on the skin, in the “more there are” style. the more it will work “, but rather to bring, through several different products, these 4 essential points that we have just seen. It’s as simple as that, and you will quickly understand why it works especially for the “millefeuille” method. It is indeed difficult in a simple daily routine with 2 products for example (washing product + moisturizer) to find the antibacterial, exfoliating, purifying and moisturizing aspect that we have just mentioned.
- There are certainly 2 in 1 or even 3 in 1 products, but we agree that a good hydrating product is rarely exfoliating, that a cleansing product is not a hydrating and rarely purifying (containing a purifying ingredient). Or that an exfoliating product is rarely antibacterial. By using several products with targeted actions following and on a daily basis, we therefore create synergies, by treating both the cause and the effects, a “360°” action in short. So that this method of yarrow does not turn into a nightmare however (with a worsening of the problems, rashes and a skin worse than before), it is advisable to strictly sort the products which one uses so as not to destroy the balance of the skin with unsuitable products (aggressive, drying, sensitizing). And to have a real result, you must ensure that the useful active ingredients are really in each of the products, which creates the famous synergy, otherwise, you may put 10 products in a row, it will not work.
