Halloween is a festival everyone enjoys. From kids to adults, everyone loves to dress up as their favorite character. However, this year with Coronavirus and all of us being locked in our own homes celebrating Halloween seems likes a farfetched dream. Not being able to go out at this time of year meeting all your friends dressed in different costumes, playing trick or treat, and scaring each other with fake ghost stories is truly sad. The most we can do now is to try and recreate that feeling at home.

Even though going out has a unique flair and spending Halloween at home will definitely not be the same, you can still give it a shot by trying out the ideas mentioned below.

  1. Create a ghost walk in your backyard:

Get some spooky facemasks you can hang on your trees, keep the lights off, and add some scary music to create the perfect ghost walk at home. You can then take turns with your family members to walk through it and whoever completes it without getting scared wins.

  1. Build a haunted fort:

All you need is a black blanket, a torchlight, and some ghost stories. Build a fort by hooking the blanket onto different parts of your furniture, go in with some pillows, and a torch. Take turns in sharing scary ghost stories with the torch facing the one narrating the story.

  1. Make candy bars for trick and treat:

Start making your own candy bars for trick and treat this year instead of buying them. This will be a good way to keep yourself busy and to countdown for Halloween.

  1. Go for DYI costumes this year:

Since you are at home this year it is the perfect time for you to make the DIY costume you always wanted to. Even if you go wrong no one will judge you.

  1. Do a movie marathon:

What better way to spend Halloween than doing a marathon of your all-time favorite horror movies. You can easily purchase Spectrum Select Bundles and watch more than 125+ channels. Since it allows you to watch television on the go too you can watch movies inside your fort on your cellphone as well.

  1. Bonfire:

Lit a small fire in your backyard, get some marshmallows and spend a perfect bonfire night with your family. This could turn into a chance to reminiscing old memories and spend quality time with your family. You can even decorate the area around the fire with some cushions and fairy lights to make it more comfortable and cozy.

  1. Recreate an old picture:

Do you have an old family picture from Halloween? Try recreating it this year. You can even frame it later as an iconic memory or make recreating this picture once in every ten-year ritual. This way every generation will have a memory of it.

  1. Make a special dinner:

Make traditional Halloween dishes like caramel apple, and pumpkin bread. You can even decorate your food according to Halloween for example, a spooky cupcake décor.

  1. Set a theme:

If there is a specific movie your entire family loves you can all dress up like its characters. If your family is full of fun-loving, confident people then maybe you can also perform a skit from it.

  1. Decorate your house:

Last but not the least, dwell into the Halloween spirit completely by decorating your entire house with props like balloons, banners, etc. Decorating your entire will get you into a Halloween mood real quick.

  1. Have an online Halloween Party:

Is Halloween making you miss your friends terribly? Why not host an online party. Get your friends to dress up and join a video call. It may not be like your regular Halloween parties but it would surely be a good way to catch up with your friends.

Halloween is about going all out and enjoying. There no such thing as overdoing Halloween celebrations. Thus, you can either follow one of the ideas above or all of them and it still would not be enough. So select which idea you want to start from and begin your Halloween celebrations in full swing.
