Role of NGO’s in Girl child education:
Education is an important tool to gain knowledge for everyone, whether it is a boy or a girl. Education is the process of possession of knowledge and development of skills for an individual that helps to contribute to the development of society. India is the second-largest populated country in the world but the rate of education of girl children in India is too low. There are many NGOs in India that are serving regarding this issue. NGOs are a non-governmental organization (NGO) that also supports destitute girl children’s education in India. It provides necessary training to underprivileged girls of different ages from different places in India.
Promote gender equality:
Gender equality or sexual equality is the state of having equal rights, responsibilities, equal access to resources and opportunities regardless of gender. Survival is the first challenge for every girl child. Gender equality is not only important for every individual but also for the economic development of the country. Education is for all and not only for boys but also for girls who are worth having a good education. Gender equality is promoted by most of the children NGOs in India. Gender equality is essential for making society safer and healthier. It is important to promote gender equality that helps girl children to receive an education.
Improve Literacy Rate:
The literacy rate is the percentage of people who can read and write in a certain population or country. Literacy is a key factor in socio-economic progress in India. The government programs and many education NGOs are making an effort to increase the literacy rate but it increases slackly. When the literacy rate is increased it helps the girl children to overcome poverty, prevents early marriages, reduces maternal death, saves lives, and improves health, and many more.
Hurdles for girls to receive quality education:
The dropout rate for girl students from the elementary level to the secondary level rises substantially. Some of the problems that can cause the girls to drop out of education like safety concerns, financial constraints, early marriages, long distance between home and school, lack of separate and functional toilets, and poor school infrastructure, preference of sons over daughters, or drop out before completing their schooling. One-third of girls only complete school education age-appropriately in India.

The education of the girl child helps to transform lives for the better. A girl is empowered when she gets a quality education. The educated woman is able to raise the standard of living for her family and children and make decisions on her own to select the profession that they want to serve society in many ways. They can generate more employment options and reform society.
NGOs are playing a huge role in creating awareness about the importance of the education of girl children in India. Now, things are getting better but it still has a lot more to accomplish. It is always important to promote the aspect of equality between all genders for the development of the country.
