How the cement has evolved over the years
Origin of cement
Cement is a significant structural material and it is a soft fine powdered substance. Cement is a Latin word derived from ‘Caementum’ which means rough-cut stone, later the binding term was added in the meaning of the word. Since it is a powdered substance when water is added causes a chemical reaction and forms a paste that sets to hard, in other terms, it is called concrete. Cement is mostly used in construction fields. The manufacturing of this chemical compound takes many complex tasks with heavy machinery that is done on the cement factory. Cement is also called binding substances because it is used in building units like bricks, tiles, pillar, and concretes.
Infrastructure need
Cement is the most important part of the construction as it used for concrete to hold the entire building structure. Concrete is made of cement, water, sand, and stone gravel, sometimes without the stone gravel also they are made. In ancient times cement is made from clay, crushed pottery, and volcanic ash, it is then upgraded to lime. Since the cement is the main thing in construction the demand for cement is increased day by day. Also, the manufacturing of cement factories grows rapidly worldwide.
Manufacturing of cement
Cement is manufactured by natural materials like the limestone which consists of calcium which is the most important chemical in cement, silica in other words called sand, bauxite also called aluminum, and iron ore, some may include shells, chalk, mud, and some chemical combinations.
Factory Process
Limestone is the major ingredient that is sourced mainly from the quarry. It is first mined or excavated from the quarry like rock, which is obtained by blasting. Big size limestone rocks are transferred to the initial stage of the cement factory, which is crushed by the big crusher and turns into small gravel pieces. Then it is transferred to the mixer in which other chemicals and mixed with the right proposition. They are mixed well and crushed a little more. Then it is transferred to a huge heating chamber where all chemical combinations and heated without melting to remove some hydrations and make some chemical reactions to the added materials in this stage the material is called clinker. It is then cooled down by the chamber and then ground into a fine powder which is called cement. Then manufactured cement is stored in big containers and packed to the respective packs and sold.
Cement for Country’s Growth
Cement is the most important part of the country’s infrastructure it provides more employment either directly or indirectly. It is also one of the key parts of countries’ economic growth. The consumption of cement is drastically improved over the years in the country. To maintain the stocks and demands cement factories are widely opened. Also, some factories are exporting cement. The cement factories are in a demand surplus position this has increased in production. Factories are also updating their manufacturing process, looking for expansion, and always tend to increase cement production. Cement factory shares the major growth in the country’s development.
