Chlamydia testing is often done by the doctor by urinating in a special container. A sample of your urine is then tested for the following laboratory tests: parameters of the prothrombin complex, marker for the presence of the antigens, and the comparison of the polymerase chain reactions (PCRs) test for the levels of the two antigens, . Only the results of these tests will provide you with accurate information about your possible infections. If a test comes out positive, you may need to be tested for chlamydia.

If you think you might be infected with either of these diseases, you should get testing. If you have one, you should use protection so that you don’t become infected with the other. If you have either of these infections, you should seek treatment immediately. If you are not treated, either of the infections can turn into a gonorrhea infection and cause symptoms such as pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), meningitis, and infertility.
